DuPont fights for the right of humanity to have a sustainable future
First founded in 1802, DuPont has a long history and also a lot of criticized behaviour for its environmental record.
Therefore, they made several excellent steps to make sure a sustainable future will really come true for all of us. For the first example, this company has replaced the traditional roof with roof-mounted solar panels at DuPont Innovation Center in Wilmington.
While solar panels are something quite expensive, DuPont use enough solar panels to provide the power for the lighting demand of that building. Operating in more than 70 countries throughout the world, DuPont is trying their best to support the needs of the environment and our mother nature.
This company also makes annual sustainability progress report that could be accessed by anyone through their official website. They have been reducing their carbon footprint for almost 20 years. They make sure those processes to develop their products are safe enough, contain less toxic than before, use less water, consume less energy, and finally could reduce their own carbon footprint. All of their fights are for the sustainable future we are dreaming of.
DuPont also supports the incensement of renewable energy consumption. The chemical giant DuPont is not only using the solar cells but also invests their money to increase the production of a certain component that are used in solar cells. Speaking of solar panel, the DuPont research facility in Hawaii has one-acre solar panel array that could supports 85% of the facility’s power needs.
With around 1.500 solar panels, they could generate over than 700.000 kWh of energy. This is one of their real commitments to become a leading company who depends on the solar power.
DuPont also has another completed solar panel arrays at Taoyuan, Taiwan.
With its 2015 Sustainability Goals that was already created in October of 2006, this company’s fights will still go on to approach the sustainable future for all of us.
