target-stores-responsible-about-recycling As the part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, each of all Target’s retail stores will have recycling stations installed. It’s not a small number since Target owns about 1.740 stores throughout the country. This is an implementation of the company’s celebration which takes around during a month. Nowadays, customers are looking for something eco-friendly for their living. Less carbon footprints are also the important factor while determining which product they should choose. This big consideration for the environment brings Target to be more eco-friendly and also offer various promotions related to this issue.
The community recycling centers will be the perfect place to collect various materials such as plastic, glass, aluminum containers, plastic bags, and also small electronics. Target also has another promotion related with the Earth Month in April, including a sweepstakes to give away a family trip and a Ford Fusion Hybrid. Also, as the free reusable bags will be given along with purchases since April 18, every customer who brings back the reusable bags will get a 5-cent discount per bag.
The journey of Target recycling efforts has already began long ago since they have been trying to recycle and reuse packaging boxes, and also the broken clothes hangers. It’s part of their commitment and they have proved that they are really into it. They have recycled 4.5 million pounds of electronics in 2008 and 80% of their replaced roof materials were totally recycled in 2008.
This is surely a big move and they are evolving all the time to try the best way to save the environment by keeping as much waste as they could to be out of landfills. The main focus is on utilizing the full life of a product and they always believe that one of their members could take benefit from those items they don’t need any more.
All Target stores are responsible about recycling since it’s a part of their company’s strong principles.
